Lisa Malone

Lisa Malone began as associate of Journey Financial Planning  in  2001.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) and her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University.

In addition to being a Series 7 and Series 63 licensed Registered Representative with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), she is also a certified public accountant and in 2020 completed the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Personal Financial Specialist Certification. Lisa's professional experience includes tax planning and preparation for both individuals and businesses. She also has extensive experience in assisting individuals and businesses with choosing retirement plans customized to their specific financial situations.

Lisa‘s accomplished career includes working in healthcare, public accounting as well as financial advisory services.  She has been involved in leadership roles with various professional organizations such as the Tennessee and Upper Cumberland Societies of CPAs.  She was named the Small Business Accountant Advocate of the Year by the Tennessee District Office of the Small Business Administration and has also received multiple awards from the Healthcare Financial Management Association where she was a former Advanced Member / Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.  Earlier in her career,  Lisa was also named the Young Careerist by the Cookeville Business and Professional Women's organization.

Giving back to her community is enormously important to Lisa. Her volunteer and community activities include Board of Trustees work for the Storyteller Theatre Company, Upper Cumberland Educational Foundation, Cookeville Rescue Mission, and Putnam County Adult Literacy Council.  She has volunteered with WCTE-TV, Putnam County Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts, and March of Dimes and has served as mentor for TTU's Governor's School. Lisa has appeared on several television and online programs discussing various topics including accounting, choice of business entity, individual and business taxes and the Paycheck Protection Program.


Above all though, ask her what she is proudest of and you can bet the answer will be her daughter Katie!  In her spare time, Lisa enjoys traveling, waterskiing, hiking, gardening and is an avid amateur photographer
